Vertigo (1958) พิศวาสหลอน จอห์นนี่ โอ หรือ สก๊อตตี้ เฟอร์กูสัน (เจมส์ สจ๊วต) อดีตนายตำรวจซานฟรานซิสโกเกษียณตัวเองออกจากงาน เนื่องจากความฝังใจที่เห็นเพื่อนตำรวจด้วยกันตกตึกตายไปต่อหน้าต่อตาจากการพยายามช่วยเหลือเขาขณะที่กำลังไล่ล่าผู้ร้ายบนหลังคาตึก และจากความฝังใจครั้งนี้ทำให้เขากลายเป็นโรคกลัวความสูงขึ้นมาทันที
